We are excited to announce the return of in-person Children’s Catechesis for students in grades K-12!

Children and Youth Catechesis

Prince of Peace Parish has adopted a faith formation program designed for today’s busy families, and one that will help families keep the Lord’s Day holy. All general children and youth formation will take place on Sunday. Sessions will run from September 12, 2021 through May 22, 2022.

Attending Mass Together as a Family!

Families are asked to intentionally attend Mass together. The goal is to regularly attend Mass as a family, in doing so, it strengthens bonds of the family to the faith.

Our Sunday 9:00 am Mass is celebrated ad orientem (priest facing the crucifix and tabernacle), Greek/Latin/English Mass parts, and incense.

For the convenience of the families who are attending Mass together, classes start at 10:30 am and will end at 11:30 am

Catechesis Curriculum

Our focus will be teaching through the Lectionary with doctrinal connections throughout the classes. All students in grades 5+ will be responsible for bringing a bible, which can be purchased through the Prince of Peace book store, to each class.

Small Group Discussions for Teens

During the scheduled session times, there will also be an opportunity for small group discussion for the teens. More details to come.

Sacramental Preparation

All students seeking to celebrate First Reconciliation, First Communion, and/or Confirmation must be enrolled in our Sunday Faith Formation OR be in a Homeschool program. Registration for the sacramental preparation programs are separate from the Sunday Faith Formation program. (See Sacramental Preparation for details.)
